Sydney 360 Guide

360 Video Travel Guide · 2020

Sydney 360 Guide

We love working with Rapturous Media on their 360 video projects. We undertook both the location sound recording and sound design, and when combined with the amazing 360 cinematography that Rapturous Media is so well known for, the vistas in and around Sydney harbour come to life.

We visit some of the most iconic tourist destinations that Sydney has to offer, and the result is an immersive travel experience that’s nearly as good as being there!

Sotto Voce

Acoustic Health Monitoring System · 2019

Sotto Voce

Monarc Media Labs was a wholly owned subsidiary whose multi-award-winning team created Sotto Voce, an acoustic health monitoring system that allows musicians to perform with confidence, knowing risks to hearing damage are understood and managed. Unfortunately, due to COVID, the product was never brought to market.

Retire Right!

Qantas Super · VR Game Show Experience · 2018

Retire Right!

When the team from NestVR approached us to create a virtual reality experience for Qantas Superannuation, we considered it a definite challenge: VR and Super didn’t sound like a match made in digital heaven, but we put our minds to it and came up with the idea of a comedic, virtual game show scenario.

Employing the comic talents of veteran performer Cam Knight, we drew our inspiration from a past favourite – digital pioneer Max Headroom – and set about creating a 3D dimensional world in our near future that hashed out – in humorous and visual terms – the speculative consequences of our financial planning. Qantas is very excited by the finished product, and it rolled out across their workplaces from February 2018.

Reaction

The team at Transmedia are great to work with. They are creative and collaborative and problem solved on the go to deliver an innovative and immersive experience that will help our Members engage with their superannuation in a fun, memorable way.

RoboRider VR

Robot Arm VR Ride Experience · 2018

RoboRider VR

When we were introduced to the Roborider team we were thrilled to find kindred spirits. We began creating the world’s first 360 video ride recording system. Rapturous Media worked with us to prototype a system that is able to be placed inside any vehicle, and records 360 video, audio and accelerometer data.

This data feeds into our Roborider playback system to allow the rider to be sitting in the driver’s seat, experiencing the thrill of some of the most exciting vehicles in the world!

Moriarty: Endgame VR

VR Comic Book · 2017

Moriarty: Endgame VR

Based on the Image Comics MORIARTY series by Daniel Corey and Anthony Decidue, MORIARTY: ENDGAME VR is a first-of-its-kind comic book that allows readers to enter and experience the panels and scenes in a truly immersive virtual reality experience. Boasting a talented cast of actors and immersive environments, it brings a post-apocalyptic spin and fresh new story to a well-known cast of characters, and is available on Steam for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

Cast into a London of the bleak future – a steampunk world replete with powerful zeppelins and thundering mechs – an obsession with power drives the Sherlock Holmes of myth and legend into madness. It falls to his nemesis – Professor James Moriarty – to attempt to bring balance to the chaos and try and restore a fallen city from the brink of destruction.

WonderCon 2017

Premiering at one of the world’s largest comic conventions, with over 60,000 people attending, MORIARTY: ENDGAME VR was the highlight of the show for many visitors. From little kids to adults, and everything in between, the experience was hailed as “the future of comic books”, with comments including: “I legitimately only want to read comics like this now”, “Probably the most spectacular comic book reading experience I’ve ever had” and “This seems like a new tool for storytelling”.

CHALK Preschool

Newport Beach, CA · VR Marketing Experience · 2017

CHALK Preschool

This freshly designed Chalk Preschool is a dynamic new educational development in Newport Beach. Transmedia invites you to take a tour of the property, before it has even been built! Available on desktop for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, the Chalk Preschool is a fully immersive VR experience, encompassing the space in its entirety.

Walk through the rooms as an adult and then, through clever innovation of our design team, as a child, to see things through their eyes.

Phase Frames

Vivid Festival Sydney · 2015

Phase Frames

Phase Frames is inspired by the technology of 1920s celluloid film-making and the workings of a zoetrope. Phase Frames invites the viewer to enter a circular installation of 18 monitors, each showing the same, synchronised image. As the viewer interacts with the installation, the images on the screens are sent into different phases of action.

The interactive remix offered by the installation gives viewers a special insight into the nature of moving images and motion picture projection.

Koup Kustoms

Unity Facebook App · 2015

Koup Kustoms

The project was to create an interactive Facebook App for a Kia Australia competition with the aim of engaging car enthusiasts and car lovers with a fun and interactive activity customising Kia’s latest sports vehicle, with the goal of creating eye catching magazine covers as entries to the competition.

We were brought onto the Koup Kustoms project primarily for our Unity Engine expertise. Having worked on several Unity based projects over the last five years, we were able to build an application that was easy to deploy via web browsers that had a very high graphical quality. We collaborated on site with We Are Social to leverage both team’s great skill sets to provide a superior product in the shortest possible development time.
